Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions:
Q - I want to get my project on the OBPB agenda.  What should I do?
A - See the
Applicant's Page for procedures for getting on the agenda.

Q - I didn't get a notice about a project in my area.  Why not?
A - The City of San Diego gives public notice to projects in accordance with Municipal Code
(
Ch11 Art02 Div03 - Notice).  Although Community Planning Boards are not required to notice
projects, the OBPB routinely provides physical public notice to projects in the community in
order to encourage community participation.

Q - What type of zone is my property?
A - The City of San Diego
Development Services Department has maps available online that
show zoning.  Zone descriptions can be found within the Land Development Code (Chap
11-14 of SD Municipal Code) on the
City of SD City Clerk's webpage.

Q - I'd like to help serve on the Ocean Beach Planning Board.  What do I need to do?
A - Click here to see the requirements and download the
application package.

Q - Why is there a two-step process for the Community Planning Board to review my
project?

A - The two-step process is designed to give the applicant the best chance of success in the
public review process.  The first review is held by the Project Review Committee and is
designed to identify any issues with the proposed project and allow the applicant a chance to
attempt to resolve them prior to the Board making a recommendation to the City.  The second
review is a review of the project by the full board accompanied with a vote and
recommendation to the City of San Diego.  It is highly recommended to have a favorable vote
by the Community Planning Group before an applicant brings their project to the San Diego
Planning Commission.  For more information on the process, see the
Applicant's Page.

Q - I want more information than what is posted on the OBPB webpage.  How do I get
more records or information?

A - OBPB posts information provided by the City of San Diego considered matters of public
record concerning individual projects.  For more information an individual must contact the
City of San Diego Project Manager assigned to the proposed project.
 This Project Manager
is identified on all City of San Diego public notices.
